Community and Health Services
This one year course provides certification at FETAC level 5 in Community and Health Services.
Practical First Aid Certificate offered every other year.
Progression
Graduates from this course may apply for admission to an advanced certificate at level 6. Students may also apply after one year through the FETAC links scheme for entry to diploma/degree courses in Institutes of Technology and Universities.
Many of our past students are employed as Special Needs Assistants, community workers, and care assistants in hospitals, schools, and homework clubs and a range of other settings.

Social Studies examine issues affecting our society and our communities – family, media, drugs and alcohol, young offenders.
Human Growth and Development is about how personality forms over the lifespan and how we deal with childhood, adolescence, adulthood and ageing.
Computers and Word Processing introduces computers and gives students the skills needed to use computers in the workplace.
Work Experience provides for hands on, practical experience whereby the student learns by doing and then reflecting on their learning in a work setting.
Entry Requirements
All applicants will be interviewed, there is no academic requirement.
It is desirable that applicants be over 21 years of age.
