Community Health Services Course Dublin

This one year course provides certification at QQI level 5 in Community Health Services. Classes run from 9.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday. Practical First Aid Certificate offered every other year.

Course Content

Students take a minimum of eight of the following QQI modules:

  • Early Care and Education Practice (5N1770)
  • Early Childhood Education and Play (5N1773)
  • Child Health and Well Being (5N1765)
  • Work Experience (5N1356)
  • Communications (5N0690)
  • Special Needs Assisting (5N1786)
  • Nutrition (5N2006)
  • Safety and Health at Work (5N1794)
  • Personal Effectiveness (5N1390)

Certification

QQI

The Course provides certification at QQI level 5 in Community Health Services.

Duration

One year full time. Classes run from 9.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday.

Progression

Graduates from this course may apply for admission to an advanced certificate at level 6. Students may also apply after one year through the QQI links scheme for entry to diploma/degree courses in Institutes of Technology and Universities.

Many of our past students are employed as Special Needs Assistants, community workers, and as care assistants in hospitals, schools and homework clubs and a range of other settings. The school has well established links with a number of care providers such as Home Care from which employment has been obtained

Entry Requirements

All applicants will be interviewed, there is no academic requirement. It is desirable that applicants be over 21 years of age.

Grants

There are grants available to those students who are eligible to apply. Students may qualify for VTOS payments and PLC grants for mature students.
