LIBRARY
A new library has opened in St. Kevin’s College in 2009! This is funded by the JCSP Demonstration Library Project, a school librarian is also provided in this project to develop and manage the library. The old school sports hall has been converted to give us a bright, welcoming library space. Computers, study tables and comfortable seating are available. The library is stocked to encourage all the pupils in the school to use the library and to enjoy reading. Information and fiction are provided in lots of different formats - books, DVDs, CDs, newspapers, magazines, software, and online. The library will welcome students, staff and parents to use its facilities. The library will be fully functioning from September 2009.
Classes
Each class will have two timetabled classes in the library each week. These will support literacy, project work, information seeking, research and reading for pleasure. The library will have open access at particular times each day for students and staff.
Events
Events and exhibitions will be held in the library to support, promote, encourage and complement the JCSP programme.
Guest will be invited to offer workshops and presentations to the students.
