Community & Child Development
This course offers training in the skills needed to work with others in community settings. It is a preparation for those who wish to work in the community helping others, such as children with special needs, early childhood care and education, working with young people and care of the older person.
This course offers training in the communication skills needed to get on with people both socially and in the professional workplace. It is a preparation for those who wish to work in the community helping others, such as people with special needs, elder care, early childhood care and education.
The course is for one academic year from September to May and will be held from 9.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday.
Learning is centered around class discussion and students are encouraged to contribute from their own experience, knowledge and skills. Classes are enjoyable, lively and interesting and aim to provide a better understanding of ourselves and other people.
Qualifications
FETAC Certificate in Community and Health Services (DCHSX) Level 5 in Year 1
FETAC Certificate in Childcare (DCHSC) Level 5 in Year 2
